DESMOND MAJEKODUNMI, Born in June 1950, Son of first republic federal minister Dr MA Majekodunmi and founder of Corona schools, Nora Majekodunmi. He is an electro acoustic engineer. Educated at Corona school Ikoyi, Kings College Lagos, ISI Ibadan, Norwich City College UK.

For 12 years he worked with De Lane Lea / CTS UK, Phillips Nigeria and Columbia Broadcasting Services Kenya.

He is currently involved in several NGO’s including:

* The Nigerian Conservation Foundation(NCF) where he serves on the governing council. He is currently the chairman of the awareness committee which assisted in introducing ecology to the national school’s curriculum and the establishment of a national environment protection agency and national parks authority.

* He is a council member of the Nigeria Britain Association (NBA).

* A consultant to A Way Out UK.

* The past President and current Trustee of Legacy 1995 Group – a historical and environmental interest group. Legacy recently restored the over 100 years old Jaekel house and established a mini railway museum in the railway compound in Ebute-metta,Yaba, Lagos and is currently working on several historic building restoration projects.

He is an environmental activist and a certified experimental extension farmer for IITA Ibadan, he owns and operates Majekodunmi Agricultural projects(MAP), the only agro forestry based conservation farm in Lagos, a portion of which is now registered as an Urban Forest Park (LUFASI).

He lectures frequently on ecological management and climate change.

He is a tourism and trade development consultant to several state governments through his company Desco Tourism & Trade Developments. He is also an author, script / song writer and documentary film maker.

He was recently commissioned by the German Green party to produce a film on climate change in Nigeria.

He led a rally to advocate for the removal of shipwrecks along the Lagos coast that resulted in the governor of Lagos and the president of Nigeria visiting the Lekki beach to inspect the removal of the wrecks.

He also recently received an award from Paschal Dozie, chairman of MTN & Diamond bank ,after giving a lecture on sustainable development at the new Nigeria foundation chaired by Dozie.

He has since received several awards over issues of climate change change and environmental protection.
