We are excited to announce the 2nd edition of the Lagos Coastal Plastic Search. This time we will be combing through 7 coastal communities in Lagos State.

The daily clean ups will commence at various locations, namely along the coastlines of Apapa (19th), Victoria Island (20th), Ikoyi (21st), Badagry (22nd), Badore (23rd), Ikorodu (24th) and for the week. The closing ceremony will be a beach clean-up and Raffle Draw at The Elegushi Private Beach, Lekki on the 25th of November 2021 at 8 am.

The Lagos Coastal Plastic Search 2021 seeks to create awareness about plastic pollution, encourage recycling, volunteering and an attitudinal change towards the use and disposal of single use plastic.

During our one-week plastic clean up exercise in 2020, approximately 2158.3 kg of plastic waste was removed with the assistance of over 400 volunteers who participated in the exercise. The plastic waste collected was sold to recycling firms; the proceeds were used to empower and educate women and youth in various communities in Lagos State.
